Cacao Powder can be added to make raw chocolate, cakes, smoothies, desserts, cookies and muesli. I add this to superherbs and superfoods to give a delicious chocolate flavour.

Cacao contains the highest concentration of antioxidants of any food in the world. They protect our DNA from free radical damage. Cacao is also the best source of magnesium that helps build strong bones, support the heart, increase brain power and increases alkalinity. It is also a rich source of the minerals iron, chromium, manganese and zinc.

Cacao has amazing health-giving properties. It is the number one dietary source of magnesium, the most deficient major mineral in western diets. Over 80% of Americans are deficient in it; also without the presence of magnesium our body cannot absorb calcium. It's also rich in my favourite mineral sulphur, the beauty mineral.

Antioxidants, one of your 5 a day! The cacao bean is 10% antioxidants, making it the richest source of antioxidants on the planet. Research shows that the antioxidants present in the cacao bean are easily available to human metabolism.

By eating Raw Chocolate you are actually giving your body vital nutrients that would be considered one of your 5 a day, just make sure they are not your only source of nutrients. A natural anti-depressant, Cacao contains high levels of serotonin, dopamine and Phenylethlamine (PEA) three well studied neurotransmitters which help alleviated depression and are associated with feelings of well-being.

Increasing our intake of PEA helps create feelings of excitement and euphoria and promotes optimistic thought patterns.
